Annual Strictly Business L.A.
In May of each year, hundreds of business leaders, top executives, young professionals, government representatives and policy makers come together at The Beverly Hilton for JVS’ Strictly Business L.A. Luncheon.
The event begins with a Business Networking Reception, followed by the luncheon program recognizing individuals and companies that have set the standard for corporate philanthropy, with the Corporate Leadership Award.
Past Corporate Leadership Award honorees include Larry Miller of Sit 'n Sleep, Loeb and Loeb LLP, Shelley Freeman, Bradley A. Luster, Stanley Black, Richard M. Kovacevich, Alfred E. Mann, Daphna Edwards Ziman and Richard Ziman, Dr. Sidney Harman, S. David Freeman, Bruce Karatz, Kathleen Connell and Fred Rosen.
JVS also recognizes companies that have provided meaningful support to specific programs or to the agency as a whole.
Past Corporate Partnership Award honorees include Carl Terzian of Terzian Associates, Citi, Shout! Factory, Wells Fargo, STAPLES, Inc., Adelphia and Kaiser Permanente.
One of the highlights of each year's program is the presentation of the annual Inspiration Awards to three JVS clients who have overcome substantial barriers to find success in the workplace. Their stories are told in a moving video, which can be viewed online.
