JVS has seen a steady increase in mature job seekers as a result of layoffs across numerous industries, forced early retirement and unexpected financial needs.
MaturAbility: Working Stronger Working Longer helps participants assess skills and accomplishments and identify employment goals.
Particular attention is paid to boosting self-esteem and self-confidence and getting past the barriers that mature workers continue to face, particularly in today's highly competitive job market.

I want to thank you, Shelley and Barbara for your thoughtful presentations and guidance in the Maturability class during what is a difficult time for all of us. I found the information valuable, and I know I will be referring to what I learned as I continue my job search.
One of the most important parts of Maturability as well as the other classes and the job club at JVS that I have attended in the past few months is meeting others who are also seeking jobs and/or new directions. I have met some wonderful people through JVS. Connecting in person, as we all have during Maturability, puts faces and personalities to the statistics that we could have been.
You have helped me focus more on my job search (a difficult area for me) and given me new tools to employ during the search. I am most grateful!
